CBG Cannabigerol – meet us!

CBD Oil info

Most cannabis users know about CBD, but what about CBG? Many have not even heard that such a substance in hemp exists at all. And it’s no surprise that CBG ranks behind the more familiar cannabinoids CBD and THC. It’s practically a building block for CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids. What is in CBG and is it so unique, and in general, what effects does it bring?

CBG – what is it?

CBG – Cannabigerol – is one of the hundreds of cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBG results from heat exposure to cannabergerolic acid (CBGA), which is converted into CBG – Cannabigerol. CBG is the source of many substances, including THC, CBD, and CBC.
It can be said that CBG is the so-called “cannabis stem cell”. CBG is a non-narcotic substance with no intoxicating effect.

CBGA – how it turns into CBD and THCa

This is done using certain enzymes where the CBGA acid forms become THCa, CBD and CCA. These enzymes are called synthases (THC synthase, CBD synthase, etc.). In practice, this is due to heating or drying the plant.

CBG

The discovery of CBG and its benefits for humans

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a type of cannabinoid that was discovered in the 1960s and used primarily for people with central nervous system disorders, including neurological disorders, skin conditions, chronic pain, and more.

CBG is not psychoactive, it has no intoxicating effect. It acts on two cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2), making it similar in properties to CBD.
CBG can also affect the body by increasing anandamide levels. Anandamide is a natural cannabinoid that helps control many biological functions such as appetite, sleep, and memory. One of its great features is that CBG helps the brain regulate neuronal activity. CBG has been shown to block serotonin receptors, which has an important role in the treatment of depression. Since CBG may not have any risk of adversely affecting the central nervous system, it has generated a lot of interest for medical use.

CBG oil and CBG tea – effects

The effects of CBG are still being studied, but the list of indications is already impressive and growing. Hemp plants with CBG are grown and hand-harvested in the Czech Republic in the Central Bohemian region under organic farming conditions. The French variety Santhica is specially grown with a high content of CBG and contains virtually no THC. This variety is then used to produce hemp tea or CBG oil.
