What is cannabidiol and how is it good for the skin

CBD Oil info

Despite the fact that cannabidiol has already created a lot of noise, clinical medicine still has not come to a consensus on it. Dr. Michalis Kyratsous, consultant psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, a renowned mental health center in England, warns that the properties of this substance in beauty products, drinks and supplements may well be marketers’ inventions. “Many people talk about the therapeutic effect of cannabidiol and often use it rather thoughtlessly: some consider it a nootropic drug that is suitable for brain stimulation, others use it to combat panic attacks, still others in the case of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, epilepsy or for relief of chronic pain. However, all of these applications are not supported by sound clinical data.”

Trying the effect of cannabidiol on yourself in Russia will not work: in our country it is considered a derivative of tetrahydrocannabinol, a component of hemp that causes a narcotic effect, and therefore is prohibited. Only candles, creams and other care products that contain it in small quantities are available to us. But the effect of it is still noticeable: these beauty products, of course, will not relax or soothe you, but they will help the skin – they will relieve irritation, reduce inflammation and flaking, and even anesthetize a little. “Cannabidiol has anti-inflammatory effects and is recognized as a highly effective antioxidant that helps flush out toxins that build up on the surface of the skin due to external factors such as air pollution and UV rays,” explains Florine von der Forst, founder of The Chillery, which sells only products with hemp derivatives.

If hemp oil products are no longer surprising, then beauty products with cannabidiol are not at all easy to find. It’s not even that most are available only in foreign online stores, but in a confusion of terms. When choosing, be guided by the composition: if it says hemp seed oil, it means hemp oil, and if the abbreviation CBD is indicated, then congratulations – you have found cannabidiol.
