CBD vs. THC: what’s the difference?

CBD Oil info

THC and CBD

The hemp or cannabis plant contains over 113 cannabinoids, the best known of which are – psychoactive THC and non-psychoactive CBD and CBG, which are currently growing in popularity largely due to the therapeutic effects they provide. For an illustrative example, you can read the reviews of people and patients who take CBD.

Products with THC content up to 0.2% are legal (in most EU countries)because they do not have psychoactive effects and can be freely sold (of course, depending on the type of product, legal obligations must be met – appropriate quality certificates obtained, etc.). Always choose only trusted manufacturers-suppliers: buying Cannadorra products you will be sure that these are legal nutritional supplements.

Products with CBD – cannabidiol are gaining more and more popularity every year – hemp CBD oil harmonizes the natural processes in the body and thus supports its main protective functions. You can also read about how Cannabidiol helps our clients:

Relieve Fibromyalgia Symptoms With CBD

I have had fibromyalgia for over 40 years. I have already tried all the drugs, including opiates. Either I couldn’t stand them or they didn’t work.

Since last year I have been taking 5% CBD hemp oil drops and hemp tea in the evening. I sleep much better with tea. After 3-4 weeks, I felt relief from the symptoms. The pain is not completely gone, but you can live with it and do many things that I could not do before. I can only recommend CBD drops.

Gut problems, rheumatism, arthritis and CBD

After a few weeks of antibiotic treatment, hemp products cleared up my bowels. In the morning and in the evening I took BIO hemp oil in a spoonful, and in the evening I took a spoonful, I made “muesli” with 15 g of hemp protein, 15 g of peeled seeds I add 15 g of oatmeal to yogurt.

I take CBD hemp oil because I can’t stand antidepressants, 3 drops in the morning and 5% CBD oil at noon, for a better and more restful sleep I put 3-5 drops in the evening, depending on how restless I feel, or I brew hemp tea with butter.

CBD 5% also helps me get by with fewer painkillers I take for rheumatism and arthritis.

I am very glad that these remedies exist and can be used without any side effects to relieve the symptoms.

After one year of daily use, I feel better.

My illnesses cannot be cured, but they are lessened and more tolerable with the help of hemp products, especially now in winter, I feel how well the hemp treatment is helping me.

Thank you also for the many application tips in your news, which were and are very useful to me, because there is hardly a doctor with whom you could discuss such a treatment.

Multiple sclerosis and CBD products

I suffer from multiple sclerosis (MS) and have been treated with Avonex for 9 years with serious side effects.

No pain medication really helped me until I stumbled upon CBD products. Pain relief, calmness, improved sleep and overall well-being. After taking CBD, things are going much better and I can enjoy life again.

Use of CBD for Sleep Disorders, Osteoarthritis and Parkinson’s

I suffer from sleep disorders. I took hemp oil 5% for 1 year and later ordered hemp tea separately. For some time I still could not sleep soundly, but this was no longer comparable to my previous sleep. By the way, my toe osteoarthritis has improved!! General well-being has improved. I recently started using 1 scoop of hemp oil every day. I was told about it by my friend, whom it helps with Parkinson’s disease. The tremor got a little better. In general, I am very satisfied and I think that cannabis is the medicine of the future.

Products with CBD are sold today in the form of gels, oils, capsules, teas, etc. It should be noted that all products interact with the endocannabinoid system of the human body, but have very different effects (what is the endocannabinoid system – link).

CBD vs. THC: chemical formula

Both CBD and THC have exactly the same molecular structure: 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms. small difference in arrangement of atoms determines the difference in the effects on the human body.

Both hemp isomers – CBD and THC – are chemically identical to the endocannabinoids that our bodies produce. This allows them to interact directly with human cannabinoid receptors. This interaction influences the release of neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotransmitters are chemicals responsible for the transmission of “messages” between cells and play an important role, for example: in pain perception, immune function, stress response, and the quality of our sleep.

CBD vs. THC: psychoactive properties

Despite their similar chemical structure, CBD and THC do not have the same psychoactive effects. After CBD, you will not feel intoxicated and, on the contrary, you will be surprised how positively this substance can affect certain processes in your body.

TGK binds to cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors in the brain. This causes a feeling of euphoria, up to an intoxicating effect.

CBD however, it binds very weakly, if at all, to CB1 receptors. Its effects are significantly different: cannabidiol is able to influence the regulation of temperature, inflammation, sleep, pain. By acting on these receptors, cannabidiol works like a tool that harmonizes the natural processes in the body.

However, CBD, as an isomer, requires the minimum legal concentrations of THC in its spectrum (the so-called “full spectrum of cannabinoids”) for its maximum therapeutic effectiveness. In addition, CBD can help reduce some of the unwanted psychoactive effects of THC, such as euphoria or sedation!

CBD vs. THC: legitimacy

THC as an independent cannabis isomer is illegal both in the Czech Republic and in most EU and CIS countries. However, if CBD products – in particular, food supplements – contain THC within the legal limits (up to 0.1 or 0.2%), then this is considered legal. Cannabinoid concentrations in oils must be confirmed by proper laboratory testing.

Side Effects of CBD Compared to THC

CBD, even in high doses, is well tolerated and non-addictive. Studies show that any side effects that occur when taking CBD are most likely the result of an interaction between CBD and other medications you may be taking.

THC, on the other hand, causes tangible side effects, such as:

  • cardiopalmus
  • problems with coordination
  • dry mouth
  • redness of mucous eyes
  • reaction delay
  • memory loss
  • panic attacks

Side effects of CBD may include:

  • appetite changes
  • moderate fatigue
  • dizziness
  • changes in the digestive tract

So what is the main difference between CBD and THC?

CBD and THC have their own therapeutic benefits. Even doctors can prescribe higher THC products for certain medical conditions. However, these drugs are not freely available. If you belong to a group of people suffering from some chronic diseases, or you are simply subject to excessive stress or anxiety, we recommend that you try CBD products, and perhaps they will become a good and faithful assistant :-).

However, always carefully consider the possibility of side effects and interactions with other medications you are taking. Before use, consult your doctor, if you have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact our specialists.

In addition, long-term use of THC can negatively affect the psyche.

Hemp CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC are legal in the EU. And for the CIS countries, Cannadorra offers a special line of crystalline CBD oils with 0% THC content!
