In fact, a study of global stress diseases found that literally half of the world’s population suffering from any type of oral disease, and first of all, caries occurs.
CBD in dental care research
An interesting new study was published in January 2023 to investigate the effectiveness of CBD compared to well-known hygiene products oral cavity in decreasing the amount of bacteria in plaque, which is responsible for all types of oral diseases such as sinusitis, bleeding, tooth decay and tooth loss. The sixty subjects in the study were divided into six different categories according to the Dutch Periodontal Screening Index. All participants were aged 18-45 years.
The research methodology was to take plaque from all participants and divide each sample into two separate Petri dishes, with each Petri dish divided into four parts, allowing each sample to be tested in eight different locations.
The eight substances compared for their ability to fight bacteria in dental plaque were: cannabidiol (CBD), cannabichromene (CBX), cannabinol (CBN), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), Oral B, Colgate and Cannabite F (toothpaste made from pomegranate and algae). After sealing and incubation, the number of bacterial colonies was counted. The results of the study showed that cannabinoids really more efficientthan well-known oral preparations such as Colgate and Oral B.
