Schizophrenia and CBD
The patient was a woman (she had many hormonal side effects with classical treatment, schizophrenia) who was being treated at a clinic in Ribeirão Preto.
She suffered from:
- aggressiveness
- self-harm
- incoherent thinking
- auditory hallucinations
The patient was under the constant supervision of two psychiatrists and two nurses and was constantly registered.
After the experiment was completed, a random sequence of notes was examined by an independent psychiatrist with the following result:
Symptoms of schizophrenia decreased with the introduction of CBD and vice versa increased when CBD was discontinued.
Improvements brought about by CBD administration are not enhanced by haloperidol. Improvement was seen in all areas studied, including psychotic symptoms.
