It is known that CBD (eng. CBD) – cannabidiol has great medical potential in the treatment of some serious diseases. My question in this article is whether it can be useful for healthy people as a preventive measure. However, as my medical friend said, “I have not yet met a healthy person”, in other words, everyone has something or some kind of inclination. To answer this question, I tried 5% drops of CBD on myself for almost 2 months, and prepared a small study.
CBD and the endocannabinoid system
It is important to first look at the endocannabinoid system. This system is natural for all mammals. It consists of endogenous cannabinoid receptors and is located in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous system.
The endocannabinoid system consists of 2 main receptors – CB1 and CB2 and involved in basic life functions like appetite, in the functioning of the immune system, in reproduction and in the treatment of pain.
CBD works as a CB1 and CB2 receptor antagonist, which means that CBD protects them from being activated.
CBD basically calms our nervous system
Most modern diseases are associated with an extremely strong reaction of our organisms. Let’s mention some of them. Allergies, asthma, psoriasis, epilepsy, migraine, stress – all this is caused by an overreaction of our body.
And since CBD helps our body to calm down, it works as a prevention of many civilizational diseases. In other words, CBD protects our body, mainly the nervous and immune systems, from overreacting.
Two months of preventive CBD therapy
I am a 35 year old male with common civilization problems like allergies, asthma, eczema. No other serious illnesses. I have been drinking 5% CBD oil for 2 months – 5 drops in the morning and 5 drops in the evening. It took two bottles of 10 ml.
The most obvious phenomenon after the first week of therapy was that my sleep has improved a lotwhich had many positive consequences. I was generally more relaxed and less stressed. At work, at home, everywhere. My eczema has also improved as it is very much related to stress. I usually scratch myself when I’m under pressure. The same goes for allergies. I have to say that CBD as a preventative works very well and I continue to use it.
